2020 French Open odds, men's final predictions: Top tennis expert reveals Nadal vs. Djokovic picks CBS Sports Staff Mega Millions, Powerball jackpots rank among top 10 in US lottery. Of the four Grand Slams, the French Open is unique in that it takes place on clay courts. There are players who love it – Rafael Nadal, being the prime example – while even some of the best. Rafael Nadal is the favorite to win his 14th-career French Open this May and breaks a tie with Roger Federer atop the all-time Grand Slam standings with his 21st major title. The Spaniard is gunning for his fifth-straight victory at Roland-Garros, but there hasn’t been a repeat winner on the women’s side of the tournament since Justine.

PARIS, France – The two top seeds, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, will face off in the French Open Men’s Final to decide the champion on Sunday.

Both players have had much success but this matchup may be the most difficult single match assignment for Djokovic seeing that Nadal holds the all-time record of 12 French Open championships.

“Well, isn’t it obvious?” Djokovic said Friday evening after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals. “He [Nadal] won this tournament so many times that I don’t think any player has won that many times any tournament. He’s lost twice in his entire career on this court.”

If Nadal wins the match, it will be the third time in his career that he wins the French Open four years in a row. He would also tie the record on most career Grand Slam singles titles with Roger Federer if he gets his 20th title on Sunday.

The odds for the match are posted on legal sports betting sites for bettors to place wagers on the anticipated event.

Though Nadal is the outright favorite for the match, he is not looking past the potential of Djokovic who entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed.

“I know it is a court where I have been playing well for such a long time, so that helps,” Nadal said, “At the same time, he [Djokovic] has an amazing record here, too, being in the final rounds almost every single time.”

Djokovic has had much success in Final rounds but not as much in the championships at the French Open. He defeated Nadal in January 6-2, 7-6(4) at the ATP Cup, which was their only matchup this year.

In both of their semifinal victories, breakpoints were crucial with Djokovic taking 8 of 22 opportunities and Nadal taking six of nine.

As for the rivalry between the two players, the momentum should be with Djokovic who is planning to feed off his win this year and his win on this court against Nadal in 2015.

The 56th head-to-head meeting of the two players will start at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday and will be aired and streamed by NBC. It will be the last time those looking to bet on the French Open will be able to do so.

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal meet in the final of the 2020 tennis French Open.

Novak Djokovic is coming off a five sets win over Stefanos Tsitsipas that took 56 games to decide. In the victory, Djokovic won 73 percent of his first serve points and 47 percent of his second serve points. Djokovic won 64 percent of his total service points and converted on eight of his 22 break points. Djokovic got 67 percent of his first serves in play and saved 11 of his 15 break points. Djokovic cruised in the first two sets and then allowed things to get away from him, forcing him to play five sets and nearly four hours. It’s going to be interesting to see how Djokovic recovers from possible fatigue. Djokovic hopes to win his second French Open title and his 18th grand slam title overall. Djokovic is 1-3 in final appearances at the French Open, but he’s won each of his last five grand slam final appearances overall. Djokovic has won 15 straight matches on clay court.

Rafael Nadal is coming off a straight sets win over Diego Schwartzman that took 31 games to decide. In the victory, Nadal won 68 percent of his first serve points and 53 percent of his second serve points. Nadal won 63 percent of his total service points and converted on six of his nine break points. Nadal got 69 percent of his first serves in play and saved nine of his 12 break points. Nadal is 13-0 in French Open final appearances and has won nine of his last 12 grand slam final appearances overall. Nadal has won eight of his last nine matches on clay court.

These two have played 55 times and Djokovic has won 29 of those matches, including the most recent match this year in the ATP Cup. Djokovic has won 11 of the last 14 matches against Nadal. However, Nadal has won eight of the last 13 matches on clay against Djokovic. Nadal is also 9-6 against Djokovic in grand slam matches.

Nadal French Open Odds

Djokovic didn’t do himself any favors by having to play extra tennis to get this point, as he’s going to do a ton of running to have a chance in this one. Either way, Nadal has to be the pick here, as this is his tournament, winning the title 13 times and not losing a single final appearance. Also, Nadal has been the sharper, better player, not even dropping a set up to this point. We don’t get Djokovic as an underdog often, so I can see the case there, but that’s about the only edge you have there.

Nadal wins his 20th grand slam title.
